It's been holding at 28F here all day and I'd guesstimate ~ 10-11" of snow so far.  This pic is from my backyard ~ 10 min ago.

I'd prefer that to the yellow sludge we're breathing here right now.

Still, Merry Beltane!

Dancing through the woods out your way today would take extra dedication.

My glass is half empty right now, so I'm celebrating May Not Day.  I might more accurately call it Probably Won't Day.

We were in the 80's the other day. Now 30's and snow. Not 11" or anything but enough to cancel baseball practice tonight. And probably for the rest of the week.

We are so far above normal snowpack for this time of year (5 to 12 times normal) that I was willing to pass this storm up. We got some flurries and cool temperatures, but no accumulation to speak of.

We have IDIOTS here in Seattle that are "celebrating" May Day in their own way.

Live coverage going on right now of the protests.  I have absolutely NO IDEA what they are upset about.  ???

I think I hate you.

We just got the report that right now the Sierra snowpack has about 21% of the normal amount of water.  Second year in a row of drought, and we are in such trouble (especially as I have to wonder if it's properly called 'drought' or if it's the new normal).

Temps today supposed to hit 80, which ain't right either.

We've been a drought area for about 8 or 9 of the last 10 years. And even our late snowpack won't stop that. But the snowpack from April has improved our situation.

But like you, I wonder if what is now considered drought (from 30-year averages) will become a new normal. The northern High Plains steppe will become the northern High Plains desert.

(Oh, and I know you don't really  hate me. :D )
