Saw this story this morning.  A scary situation considering he was with his family.  A wildlife biologist who lives & works in bear country so it seems he had the savvy to know how to handle himself.....

He's lucky.  I'm glad that he and his family are okay.  Unfortunately, as he was a biologist, I can't believe the guy went out there without bear spray.  For that, I call him a dumbf***...!!!  And, I usually don't talk like that when I hear about bear attacks...

This is why we need to exterminate all bears. And poisonous snakes.

I say we eliminate all poisonous bears and furry, four legged snakes.

Sorry... Double posted this by mistake... That's what I get for walking away from the computer for a while and then not paying attention when I get back!

That is a strange story.  Even through a heavy coat, I don't think a brown bear would have much difficulty snapping an arm.  And it also attacked a telephone pole?

Sounds like it's time for some rabies shots.

That's what I was thinking.  Seriously weird behavior, which means something seriously wrong.

My thoughts exactly!  I wonder if they turned over the entire bear or did they take the brain for rabies testing...?  If I were that guy, I'd be getting the shots if they couldn't tell me one way or the other.
