Anyone who knows me, knows I am obsessed with critters. Sometimes the weirder the better. So what are your nominations for cool (a purposely subjective word) and unusual animals?

I will start with one of my favorites, the spotted hyena.

and at the risk of creeping some out, here's what makes them unusual: (you have been warned)

For downright cool, I'll go with the wolverine. It's unusual in a sense also, though there are probably weirder animals on the planet.

I think the most magnificent animals I've ever seen are Bengal tigers.  They just exude power, grace and elegance.  Truly a wonderful species. I wonder how much longer they can survive in the wild.

All good nominations. I have to give honorable mention my namesake, the coyote. Adaptable, intelligent and cunning. The one mammal man couldn't wipe out.
