flickr recently changed it's format. An article in Gizmodo detailed the history of flickr and what happened after Yahoo! bought it.

At first the new format was terrible mainly because of initial errors during the change over. But, a lot of the bugs are being fixed and the site is getting easier to use.

The most noticable difference is that the tradmark all white background is gone. It's replaced with the user's photos wall-to-wall. They are high resolution and look great. Looking at my page, I can see how diverse my picture subjects really are.

Have a look for yourselves. The banner photo can, supposedly, be changed, but that edit feature doesn't work yet.

Feedback is welcomed.

This is a great photo:

I also liked the ‘Hoops’ photo.
I went to Blues and Brews in Telluride several years ago and the hoops kept me entertained for hours.

Thanks. I tried to get him to smile but he wouldn't cooperate. He just wanted to rattle.

Hoops has the most views of all my photos. Barefoot hippies dancing in dirt seems popular.

The new Flickr is certainly eye candy -- makes Picasa look plain all of a sudden.

But I wish Flickr will let users "toggle" between eye-candy-photo tiles and good ol' fashion file listing.  Sometimes, it's easier to find photos when one can quickly sort by file name or date or size...

For now, I'm not a fan and am tempted to jump ship to anywhere else, but I'm willing to wait a bit until things settle down. My biggest beef is that I used to arrange my hiking photos into sets and then add a trip report to the set description. These hundreds of trip reports seem to have disappeared (can't see a set description). :(

My page seems a bit too busy for my tastes too; hopefully I'll get used to it.
