I am moving, and do not seem to be able to sell a good dining table on Craigslist.  I will be driving I-84 to SLC, I-80 to Cheyenne, I-25 to Denver, I-70 to StL, then I-55 /24 to Nashville, I-40 to Chattanooga, I-75 to Fl, and finally I-95 to my new home.  I tell you this because if you live close to this route, I will deliver it to your home.

$400 will get you a beautiful solid cherry table, made in the US, with 4 side chairs and 2 captains chairs, along with 2 leaves.  Alone, the table is 44 x 66.  The leaves enable it to be either 7 ft, or 8.5 ft.  It has pedestal feet.  I can send pictures to anyone interested.

Steve-  If this is deemed out of line, please remove it, or shift it to Gear.  :)

This makes a beautiful Holiday table.  I have had Echo and her family around it since the boys were so little they had to eat outside on the back steps.  White seats do not agree with little boys eating chocolate muffins for breakfast.  :)  Still, it must go.  Don't see the need for the ability to seat 12 any more.

As for the mts, I can still fly to them, and will be closer to my kayaking haunts.

Safe travels and welcome to the sunshine state and the SEC!

I'm sure Roger will give you all the right lessons on how to be a true Floridian. It starts with keeping an alligator in your bathtub :)

Woodsie-- Not my choice.  M's health is determining this move.  If left to me, any move from Or would be towards the Rockies, and not East of the Mississippi.

Van- Pffft.  My Cardinals already took care of that powerhouse SEC team.  :)  Strong looks to have himself another shot this yr.

I had a Cayman in my tub in 1972.  Does that count?

West Palm Beach, until we figure out if M can return to work, or if we are slackers for the rest of our lives.  If slackers. we will buy something on the Gulf coast.  If she returns to work, we will buy within a comfortable commute for her.  My income will remain the same, as it is all in retirement funding now.

Zeke, I'm sorry about M's health. I hope the move to Florida will be just what she needs to get healthy.

Roger will keep you busy, I'm sure. Just don't let him convince you to feed the alligators  :p  And watch out for those pythons...

I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter.  We all always need more tents.

Zeke, I'm dueced sorry, both about M's health and your move to FL.  But, as you say, it will reunite you with your kayak.

I have to assume that there's something about needing warm weather all year around?  Otherwise, I can't think of much about FL that I'd consider better for the health than, say, Wyoming.

Di--  That got a chuckle.  Thanks.  Oh, and I ran across your address and ph number the other day, so watch yourself.  :)

Rebecca- M has stated that as long as we are moving away from this valley, she wants to go somewhere it is warm year round.  Tucson was in the running for a day or so, but she thought it was too close to the Canyon, and she might not see me very often.

To all others concerned about me-  M has been very sick since about Oct of 2011.  No specialists can tell us what is wrong.  Her symptoms are worse over time, but we have experienced 2 dramatic shifts for the better.  Each time we go to the time share in Florida, she heals within 24-36 hours.  Did not happen when we went to Italy, though.  We went to Zion a couple of weeks ago, and she got better there.  All we can figure out is there is something in this house, or in the valley, that she is allergic to.  Not seasonal.

So, if I must load up a truck and move, it does not matter to me if it is 500 miles, or 3500.  Just a bit more time on the road.  She offered up the image of a lakeside home in mid-America, but I nixed that idea swiftly.  I have no use for returning to the sort of community I grew up in.  I never thought I would move East of the Rockies again, but the coastline is calling our names.  We both would prefer the Gulf side, so hopefully that will all work out in a year or so.

Yep, gonna pack it all up and move again once we decide on where to buy a house.

My life goal is to spend as much time as I can backpacking in cooler climate from the end to April to October.  HOTB is the start of paddling season which last till backpacking season starts up again.  I venture home in the summer for a visit to see the house is in good order and then off for another trip.

Life in Florida is not all bad.  West Palm like Tampa has a good airport which will take ol-zeke and myself most anyplace we want.  Here I have hundreds of miles of coast line to paddle along with rivers and of course the everglades. :)

Sorry to hear about M's health issues, but sounds like ya'll have a plan
Leaving the mountains behind is tuff, but Florida is not without pleasures

I have only been in a kayak twice in my entire life...Hillsborough River swamp and Weedon Island mangrove tunnels
To this very day, I spend a lot of time staring at the kayak selection in any sporting goods store I visit

Haven't bought one yet, as I live in friggin' Tucson, AZ

And that, sir, was one of the factors that led us to Florida.  Tucson has a limited kayaking facility.  I could have still flown to Florida for my Winter paddling fun, but then what would I do in the Tucson Summers?

Sorry to hear the reason for your move.  That's the pits. I hope M's health improves dramatically and quickly, that you manage to get the time in the canyon and big mountains that you need, and that you soon find yourself in a home you love with a great kitchen.

Got to appreciate a man who will put his "M" first.

Hope your travels are safe and that a large family that will appreciate the history and capabilities of the table, winds up with it.

I also hope the move works, that within 24 hours she is cured, stays cured, improves and life moves on gloriously.

I have family in Denver......if you will send me a couple pictures to 2PawsRiver@comcast.net, I will make sure they see them.

We have some really awesome kayaking in our part of the world... 5 months a year.

I wish nothing but the best for your better half. Say hi to those sunken Cadillacs at Jonathan Penekamp SP for me man. Normally I'd say to keep your stick on the ice, let's say sand for now.

2Paws-- Thanks, and email sent with pic attached.

Paula- Yes, M paddles.  She has done a 2 night trip with me in Oregon, and loved it.  When she gets to where she can kayak again, I am sure she will have a good time.

Ponderosa-- As for me, well, I can still afford to fly to the Canyon, and to the mts I do love.
