I really like number 2.   3 is pretty cool too.  Hard to get the exposure right in that situation.

All handheld, shot in 14 bit RAW @ ~ 10:30 PM CDT. There was almost nothing for the AF to focus on in the pitch dark between the lightening flashes.

Nikon D7100, Nikon 17-55mm DX lens at ~ 32mm, f2.8, ISO 3200, 1/8 sec.

Nice shots.  It's lightning, so manually focusing on anything remotely near the lightning will work.

"It Was a Dark and Stormy Night"

Indeed, it apparently was.  I'm curious. Did smoke from the recent fire play any part in the dynamics of the photo?  Quite extraordinary, actually.

Thanks.

Beyond impressive. Three good shots on one storm. I'm lucky if I can get one.

Wow impressive. #1 is surreal, the contrast from the clouds to the lightning in the clouds.

Here is a video I shot of some lightning a few days ago.  Halfway through the video you will see a faint rainbow developing, it was much more vivid in person.

Yeah, my horizon is crooked also. :p
