Fall colors in the high country are at their peak this weekend. Mtngrl and I headed out for yet another adventure, and we were not disappointed. We drove west to Buena Vista and headed up towards the St. Elmo area. We spent the day driving in a Fall Wonderland, ooohing and aaaawing the whole day. I'll let the pics tell the story :)

Lovely drive

I absolutely LOVE the golden color in the woods on a beautiful fall day!

On the way home, we drove out to Spinney Reservoir, in search of wild burros that live in the area. These burros are descendants of burros that miners used many, many years ago. Miners turned them lose when they no longer needed them.

And a pronghorn buck :)

Gorgeous photos!

I am so wildly jealous that I shall have to crawl under the bedcovers and cry myself to sleep.

Oh, I wish I could!  Alas, my school board re-election thing is keeping me tied close to home.
