Greetings, verbivores...!!!

I started the new C.J. Box book last night and finished it this morning; upon careful review a total thumbs down from RS...!!!  Procedurally poor; a rehash of several past stories; and filled with Box's anti-federalism; I would not buy the hardcover for its price...

Box lost all credibility with me after he lets an EPA administrator, an administrator, take control of manhunt for the suspect sought for slaying two federal lawmen.

Happy Trails,

RS

Totally agree, just a bunch of government agencies fighting government agencies, with the token "Nate" chapter stuck in there.  Boring.

Bummer.  I'd recently heard good things of CJ box, and was planning to check the books out.  Are others in the series worthwhile?

I quit reading Box some time back because of the reasons mentioned above. Each book taken as a single would be OK but the repetition between books got old fast.

Early in the series they are quite good.  Read the 1st book (Open Season I believe) and then check out Savage Run.  Savage Run, the 2nd book in the series was excellent---the BEST in the series.

The last 5 or so books have been really subpar when compared to the early books in the series.

Happy Trails,

RS

Will do.  Hate sometimes to abandon characters mid-series, but I've done it before.  I got bored with Kinsey Milhone along about O or P.
