Worst drought in history for California?
The Skunks are rabid and numerous?

I don't suppose there is first aid that would help with rabies?

There isn't much you can do, other than get out ASAP for the injections.

No. There's not.

Wouldn't worry too much about it...just don't mess with any skunks you meet (don't take your pets along). Article sounds like the drought is forcing lots of critters into populated areas looking for water. I can't quite envision hordes of zombie-rabid skunks descending on neighborhoods quite yet though.  :p

Definitely seeing a lot more skunks here in North Texas.

Rabies is the worst thing that can happen in a skunk encounter.

But, in second place is what happens to your car if you run over a skunk, rabid or not.

We did everything the internet and old-wives-tales said, but it was many weeks before the smell finally went away.

My favorite compliment: "GrandPa, I've seen other old men, and their faces are a whole lot cruddier than yours is".
