In 2003 there was a women's backpack trip organized through this forum. Colorado was the destination and Mt Antero was the goal. On that trip I met Bunny from Texas and BJ from Arizona and we formed a tight friendship. Every year since we have gotten together in different locations for new adventures. Some were backpack trips, some were day hikes from a lodge or cabin, and some were kayak/canoe camping on rivers. We have just returned from Glacier National Park  our 10th time together and plans are already in motion for next year's trip on the Green River in Utah. This forum can provide lifetime connections.

Very true.  This weekend I will be spending time with forum friends, some I have known since '99.

I'm glad to hear that you Bunny and BJ are still getting together every year.  I was at the beginning of that trip in 2003, but was not able to do stay for the entire trip.

That's really neat.  My girlfriends' idea of "roughing it" is only taking carry-on's instead of checking luggage...

LOL, Tigerfan!  My closest local friend (as opposed to my childhood friends, who all live far away) is an inner-city girl who is afraid of dirt.  Major challenge!

Green River, huh?  Is this an "outfitter" trip where others would be welcome?

Sorry, but it is a private trip. There might be guided trips on that river though. BJ and her family have done it many times so she is familiar with it. We are thinking about having our 10th anniversary trip back in Colorado. We might consider having it open to other women as that is how this all started. I will run that by the others.
