Actually, it is quite easy from the ladder, as long as you have help loading the hatches.  Low tide is more difficult than high tide, for obvious reasons.

In that picture, I was searching for something small and found I could balance fairly well kneeling on the seat. Roger grabbed his camera to film the spill, that never happened.
