I'm a travel agent putting together a package to go on a hiking trip to Machu Picchu. It's an 8 day trip including planes, trains, meals and more. The trail is away from the classic Inca Trail and therefore less traffic and private guides who carry all the equipment, cook for you and set up camp. This just leaves you to walk and embrace the Andean villages and people you come across along the way.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and costs are estimated under $3000.
Departs last week of September from anywhere in Canada and group meets in Lima.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Lima
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Cuzco
Early flight to Cuzco. Free day for shopping and exploring the city. Optional city tour.

Day 3 Sacred Valley/Ollantaytambo
Full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley and Ollantaytambo ruins along with a visit to a Planeterra weaving project in a local community. Shopping opportunities at a local market.

Day 4-6 Lares Trek (3B,3L,2D)
3-day guided Lares trek to Ollantaytambo, train to Aguas Calientes.

Day 7 Machu Picchu/Cuzco
Guided tour of Machu Picchu. Optional visit to the Inca Bridge, or other short treks, before returning to Cuzco in the evening.

Day 8 Cuzco
Depart at any time and connect in Lima
